Replacing knock sensor in the engine BMW M43 to (9/1995), M43TU, M44

Turn off the ignition.
Remove the upper part of the intake manifold,
see. 11 61 040

Engine BMW M43:
Disconnect the connector (1), the camshaft position sensor.
Disconnect the connector (2) in the crankshaft position sensor TDC.

Engine BMW M43:
Release nuts (1) fastenings of a cable box at the bottom of the reservoir.

Engine BMW M43:
Disconnect the connector (2) knock sensors and remove from bracket (1).

Engine BMW M43TU:
Pull plug connection (1) from the clip on the cable box (2) and disconnect it.

Fitting Position:
Knock Sensor (1) cylinder groups 1-2 can be seen between oil filter and intake system.

Knock Sensor cylinder group 1-2 is accessible from above between the suction pipes of the 2nd and 3rd cylinders. To do this, remove the air supply hose to the nozzles with an additional suction from the nozzle (1) distributive highway.

Note:
Knock Sensor (1) cylinder group 1-2 is mounted under the tube cooling system on the engine block.
Remove the bolt (1) knock sensor.
Torque,
see. Specifications December 14 2AZ

Loosen the bolt (1) attaching the cooling system of the tube.

Bolt (1) from the tube (2) of the cooling system is weakened. Gently pull the forward tube (2) and remove the cooling system of the tube knock sensor (3).

Remove the knock sensor bolt fastening (2) cylinder groups 3-4 and remove the sensor.

Installation:
Read fault memory of the DME control unit malfunctions, check messages, rectify faults and clear information.
